KNOW (To Grow)

It is no accident you visited our website, or church. We can’t know right now how God will take this visit and use you. But we know there was a reason he brought you to us. We know he has plans for you.

“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”. Philippians 1:3-6

How does he start the good work in me anyway?

First, we are all sinners. We have all messed up. None of us is perfect.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

The Bible does not mince words. Simply put we cannot be with God in heaven if we have unforgiven sins. That being said, because He is a loving God, He has provided a way for our sins to be forgiven. Though we deserve punishment and death, God sent His Son to take the punishment for us.

Why? Why would God send his only son to take the punishment I deserve?

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Do you grasp this reality? God loves us so much….He gave us His Son.

Some important facts about God’s provision for you:

  1. Jesus was 100% God and 100% man.
  2. Jesus died a horrific death not the cross to pay for your sins.
  3. Jesus was buried and resurrected on the third day. Hundreds of people saw him after the resurrection.
  4. He his still alive today.
  5. God through the Holy Spirit is calling you to Himself.
  6. God invites us to saved from sin and death by trusting in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
  7. God promises the presence of the Holy Spirit to all that trust in Him.

What do I need to do?

Note the little phrase “whoever believes in him.” This offer of God’s love, God’s salvation, and God’s forgiveness is for those who believe in him. Believe? It means we trust God for everything he says. We trust him for forgiveness because we know we have sinned and need forgiveness. We therefore repent, or turn from sin. When we say we need to repent, we desire actively to turn away from those

“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” Acts 3:19

If we truly repent, God removes our sins from our lives. We are clean and pure before him. As you ponder these words, remember, it’s God who is moving in your life. It is God who is the source of our salvation. It is God who gives us this unmerited and undeserved gift.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
